Six Exes, One Island, $250,000: How Ashley's 30-Day Elimination Game Came Down to Trust

Open on YouTube ↗
Overview

This challenge video puts Ashley, from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on a tropical island with six of her ex-boyfriends for 30 days. The host explains that it is not an endurance challenge. The island has "literally everything you could possibly need." The goal is to win Ashley over and be the last ex standing. Every five days Ashley sends one of them home. Whoever remains at the end faces a final choice: split the prize pool with Ashley, or steal all of it. Most of the story is about how the men try to earn her trust, and whether any of them can be trusted with the money.

The Rules and the Opening Positions

The men are brought in blindfolded, and the reveal gets a mix of shock and laughter. One of them immediately brings up a grudge: Ashley invited him to a birthday party and he was "a little sad" she did not come. She answers that she was busy. The host sets out the stakes. Ashley will smash one man's heart with a hammer every five days, sending him home with nothing. The last man decides between splitting and stealing.

Ashley says she came for fun and to "see where these relationships go." She describes a different relationship with each man. There is a romantic connection with Mitchell, some she will flirt with, and some who are just friends. She already has "an idea of who needs to go." She is careful about trust: she does not want to say she distrusts people, "but they're gonna have to earn it."

The men arrive with different approaches. Gary calls the game "a business transaction" and says the two of them are great friends, but he is there to win. Another contestant plans to "play it nice, smooth" and be the genuine friend she can trust to share the money, then adds, "Or maybe not share the money." Mitchell is the most openly mercenary. He says he is not trying to play with feelings and that Ashley "knows how my mind works." He wants a chance at "ALL 250K" and says that if he reaches the end he is "probably gonna take it."

Days 1–5: Courtship and the First Elimination

Early on, the men compete to wait on Ashley. They set up her hammock, bring her cold water, and promise to protect her if "a bear come out." Danny stands out as a builder and gift-giver. Ashley calls him and Mitchell "the kings of the campsite." One contestant gives her a conch shell "so you always remember me," and Danny makes her a pair of natural earrings.

Jake does the opposite. When he asks whether she actually loves him, Ashley tells him, "You're too old for me." The narration says playing hard to get "might not have been the best strategy." By the end of Day 4 Ashley has decided. At the ceremony she says Mitchell gets more of her flirting, "but it doesn't mean I don't love the rest." Asked who she trusts least, she names Jake. He claps, and the host points out that clapping is a bad sign for him. Ashley smashes Jake's heart. He leaves cheerfully, and she calls out "I'll miss you!" and then "Not really."

Days 5–10: Tests, Friction With Mitchell, and a Luxury Night

To help her decide, Ashley runs her own small contests: a race, a fire-starting test so she knows everyone can make a fire, and a talent show. Mitchell wins the fire test, and she jokes that he'll have to "stay here with me and take care of me."

The relationship with Mitchell then gets tense. At breakfast he tells another contestant "the woman's supposed to be the one doing the cooking." Ashley says he knows "how to kill every moment." Mitchell complains that nothing he says or does is good enough for her. Another contestant says the relationship "seems authentic" but he could "see it being fake." In a private talk Mitchell tells Ashley she knows he has "integrity and morals," and they share an emotional moment. Afterwards she says she wants to trust him, but that realistically he'll go home and they "won't talk for weeks at a time," so it depends on where his head is.

On Day 9 the host takes everyone by boat to "Challenge Island." The winner gets 24 hours with Ashley in a luxury setup with a bed, a massage, and a three-course meal. The others cannot talk to her until the next day's elimination. The course requires digging a key out of the sand, unlocking a hammer, breaking a stone, and pushing a barrel up a ramp. Gary leads the whole way and laughs through it. Derrick and Mitch are still digging long after, even though the key's location was marked. Gary wins. During their night, the two talk about how their past relationship "just faded out" when one of them started seeing someone else. Gary says he took no offense.

Back at camp, the others worry about the vote. One of them guesses it is "definitely Danny, Logan, or myself." Another expects to be eliminated.

Day 10: The Mitchell Curveball

Ashley tells the group she appreciates everyone and that some of them may have put their lives on hold. Then she smashes Mitchell's heart and tells him it's time "to get back to work." The host calls it a curveball, since she had seemed to favor him. Mitchell leaves the others cryptic advice: "Count the stars for me, boys," and "Connect the dots. Make the stars align." Afterwards Ashley says she had decided not to play with those feelings. She is now thinking mainly about "who would actually split the money with me."

Days 10–15: Overreach and Danny's Slide

After Mitchell's exit, the men try something bigger: a pathway from their hut to the bedrooms. The narration says they "may have gotten a little carried away." Ashley says they have "forgotten the plot" and that she is there, "the princess of the land." She is bored and says she is "ready to just get rid of all of 'em." A seafood dinner caught by Logan does not help. When Ashley asks whether that is all they got, Danny tells her she is "always complaining."

Danny keeps making it worse. He tells her he doesn't find Harry Potter, which she loves, very entertaining, and she jokes that he is gone on Day 15 for that alone. The others warn him that trust takes a long time to build and "one moment to knock it all down." Ashley eventually sits him down. She says she does not know that he actually cares about her. If she had an emergency, she believes people like Derrick and Gary would drop anything for her, and she does not think he would. Danny becomes emotional, says she will always be his friend, promises more effort, and apologizes. In a separate comment he says the experience might bring him clarity, or "maybe that makes me wanna steal the money from her. You never know."

Day 15: Immunity and Logan's Exit

The host gives the men a way to control their own fate: a puzzle relay to "rebuild Ashley's broken heart." Each man swims far out to collect bags of puzzle pieces, and the first to finish the heart gets immunity. The host openly tells Danny he is probably going home.

Danny runs hard, because he needs five more days to change Ashley's mind. The swimming exhausts all four men. The host notes the puzzle itself is easy, "but all that swimming has them completely fried." Danny finds a better approach: he rests while building instead of resting in the water, and Gary starts copying him. Logan collects all his pieces first, and Derrick picks up the wrong color at one point. Danny finishes first and wins immunity. His heart gets a "hammer-proof" cage.

With Danny safe, Ashley has to choose among Logan, Derrick, and Gary. Logan tells her he'll love her no matter what. The host asks whether Logan might be targeted because he is Danny's friend, and Logan says there's a chance. Ashley eliminates Logan. Afterwards she says she misses him and feels she "made the wrong choice," and the mood at camp drops.

Days 15–20: Isolation, Recovery, and Mind Games

Danny keeps annoying Ashley. He tells her "women's brains are infinitely more confusing than what Minecraft is." She says she wakes up each day trying to be glad he is there, "and then you just make some dumb comment," and she withdraws from the group. Derrick and Gary give her space and say Danny needs to be respectful. By Day 17 she has shut everyone out, and the men know they need her to stay if they want a chance at the money.

Danny treats her isolation as an opening. He finds her "in a depression hole" and shows her a small figure he made of Logan. She calls the day a "big step" in their connection. Morale improves, and a yoga session where Ashley tells Danny to exhale "all of your toxic lying traits" becomes a running joke between them. She tells him she thinks she is "losing brain cells" around him "and I kind of like it."

Ashley starts to see a contrast between the entertaining Danny and Gary and Derrick, who she says are "living in their own world." Derrick explains that he sometimes steps back to analyze and plan for the endgame, but the narration says he isn't making that clear to Ashley. Danny describes his approach openly. He says he is playing mental games with everyone. His constant joking with Ashley pushes the others away from her, and that makes her wonder whether they really want to be around her. Ashley says she is considering keeping him "for entertainment value." Derrick answers by asking whether she would rather be entertained or know that someone will give her half the money. He says there is one person he wouldn't trust "with one dollar, let alone 250K," and names Danny.

Day 20: The Platform Challenge and a Secret $50,000

Ashley competes for the first time. Everyone stands on small platforms in the water, and the last person standing gets to make a decision that "might help them win this entire competition." Derrick falls at 35 seconds. The other three last much longer than the host expected: past 20 minutes, past an hour, and eventually 90 minutes. After getting thumbs-up from the contestants, the crew circles a boat around them to make waves. Gary falls first, then Ashley, and Danny wins his second challenge.

Alone with the host, Danny opens a box with $50,000. He can keep it or add it to the grand prize to "buy back Ashley's trust." The host warns that Ashley could accept the bigger prize pool and still eliminate him. If he keeps it, he doesn't have to tell anyone. Danny keeps it. According to the narration, he hides it because he worries the others would target him if they knew. At the elimination he says his decision "would not change anyone's likelihood of being here longer" and does not reveal it.

Gary thanks Ashley and praises her toughness. Derrick talks about how their relationship has grown. Ashley goes to Danny first. She calls him annoying but says he made her laugh the hardest, made the days pass faster, and keeps winning challenges, so "for selfish reasons, I'm gonna keep you around." That leaves Derrick, who has "done very bad in all these challenges," and Gary, who has "killed it." She chooses on trust and eliminates Gary, telling him "it comes down to the fact that I trust him more." Gary tells Derrick he "couldn't have played it any better" and leaves graciously.

Days 20–25: Laughter, Money Talk, and Manipulation

With two men left, the focus shifts almost entirely to the money. Danny says the real way to win is to make Ashley laugh as much as possible, and the narration says the strategy is "once again working flawlessly." Ashley calls him "very disrespectful, but he makes me laugh." Derrick has his own plan. He lets the two of them talk because Danny "can talk himself into some trouble," and that happens quickly. During a lesson Danny gives her, Ashley says he treats her "like an idiot," and they argue again on Day 22.

Derrick makes his case with the money. He tells the camera he quit his job to come, so the $250,000 matters more than people think. He makes a mock check for $125,000 to "Ashley Nicole Moore" and describes his plan as talking to her during the day and building the vibe at night. He tells Ashley he'd be "sick to my stomach" if she left with nothing and that she should leave with six figures.

Danny talks about trying to "gaslight my way into winning." He apologizes for being aggressive, saying he just sees "a lot of potential." He also tells her he thinks his mother is starting to get Alzheimer's and that there is a lot he wants to do for her. The narration presents this as "taking advantage of Ashley's empathy" and "emotional manipulation," and says it seems to work: the two hold hands. Derrick believes the odds are against him "because two people got power and I don't."

Before the final vote, Ashley weighs both of them. Derrick "might not be the best competitor, but he's always been a good, loyal friend." Danny "may be one of the most selfish people I've ever met," but she loves him and he is funny.

Day 25: The Final Choice

Before the last elimination, the host offers another $50,000 if the group can find it within an hour using a treasure map. The hunt is a promotional tie-in with a film, and the host pauses the game several times to promote it. The group finds the money, and the prize pool reaches $300,000.

Derrick tells Ashley that watching her "loving, caring heart" over 25 days was beautiful and that he loves her no matter what. Danny says he is grateful for the "emotional rollercoaster" and where their relationship ends up. He tells her she deserves half the money whoever she picks, and adds that "if you pick the right person, there may be an opportunity to make some more money." He refuses to explain. Ashley tells Danny she has never laughed harder with anyone, and that no one has annoyed her more. She tells Derrick that if she hadn't met him four years ago, she probably wouldn't be standing there, and that he has always protected her. Her decision comes down to "trust and respect," and she says Danny is hard to trust. She smashes his heart.

Danny takes it well and reveals the secret: he kept the Day 20 $50,000. Ashley says she is grateful. He had been there 25 days and deserved to leave with something, and knowing he had pocketed that money made her feel he "was gonna be the final guy." Danny says he isn't upset at all and is happy he "came out with a win."

The Last Twist: Derrick Holds the Hammer

When Derrick starts celebrating, the host stops him. The hammer now belongs to Derrick. If he smashes Ashley's heart at any point in the next five days, he takes the whole $300,000. If he doesn't, each of them gets $150,000. Derrick struggles with it and wonders whether his family would forgive him for "leaving 150,000 dollars here right now."

He decides by the next morning. At the fire he asks when he'd ever get the chance to "smash a heart and get 300,000 dollars," says that is what his family would want, and brings the hammer close. Then he tells Jimmy he is "not gonna smash her heart." Ashley accuses him of clickbaiting them and is relieved. The host confirms he'll send each of them $150,000, and ends by noting that "at least Ashley this time won some money."
